CRITERIA FOR AVAILING        SCHOLARSHIP   
Category 'A' : BPL Students
  1. Girl students belonging to BPL families studying in class IX to XII in a Govt. and Govt. Aided Schools.
  2. Boy and Girl Students belonging to BPL families studying in Graduation and Post Graduation Courses as mentioned below in Category 'C'.
Category 'B' : ITI Students
Students studying in Govt. and Private ITIs in courses / trades as per Annexure-III Courses of duration, one year or two year shall only be eligible. Minimum percentage of marks in previous examination should be 50%. Further, students staying in hostel shall be paid extra in addition to scholarship.
Category 'C' : General Students
  1. Students who have secured 60% or above in the case of girls and 70% or above in the case of boys in their last / qualifying examination including X & XII.
  2. Students whose entire family income from all sources is less than Rs.2.00 lacs p.a. shall be eligible.
  3. Scholarship shall be discontinued after the student crosses the age of 30.
  4. Only those who study in reputed colleges on regular basis, affiliated to university of repute - UGC are eligible
Those who study through correspondence or in Part time colleges are not eligible.
Following courses shall be eligible for scholarship :
  1. Students of Graduate Courses like : B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., BFA, Homeopathy, B.Pharma, BCA, BBA, BBM, Bachelor of Business Economics / Finance, B.Sc. (Agriculture), BVSC and course in Naturopathy like : BNYS. Engineering courses like : Computer Science / Engineering (IT) / (Bio-Technology), Nuclear Engineering, Industrial Environment Engineering, Plastic Technology & Petro Chemical Engineering.
  2. Students of Post Graduation Courses like : M.A., M.Phil, M.Com, M.Pharma, M.Lib (Science), MBA, Master of Business Economics / Finance / Human Resources Management/ International Business / M.Sc. / MVSc, M.Sc. (Agriculture), MCA, Organic Agriculture, Solar Energy, Rural / Urban Management.
  3. Students of Graduation and Post Graduation including diploma courses in the field of Environment like : Environment Scientist, Environment Engineer and Environment Journalist. Students of Graduation and Post Graduation Courses in Hospitality, Architecture, Physiotherapy, Micro Biology, Forensic Sciences and Social Work.
    It is further to clarify that no Ph.D. courses are eligible for scholarship. Applications for medical including dentistry and engineering courses -degree or diploma other than mentioned above will not be entertained at all.
  4. Physically Challanged or Handicap Students:
    Scholarship eligible for pre-university, graduation and post graduation courses.
  5. Widows and unmarried wards of ex-servicemen:
    Scholarship eligible for graduation and post graduation courses.
  6. Meritorious Students :
    Students who have secured 80% or above marks in their qualifying examination shall be paid additional amount for graduation and post graduation courses.
    Students staying in hostel owned by the institution and pursuing graduation and post graduation courses shall be paid extra in addition to the scholarship amount
APPLICATION FORMS AND DOCUMENTS TO BE ATTACHED
  1. Application form is now applicable to all cases of scholarship as per Annexure II, and can be freely downloaded.
  2. Application forms may also be called for from the Foundation office. Photocopies of the prescribed form are also permitted. Typed copies and Hand-written applications shall be allowed, provided they follow the prescribed format.
  3. The candidate should have his photograph affixed on the application form. He should fill the application form carefully and in detail. He should give His full name at all places. The form shall also be signed by his father/Guardian.
  4. The applicant shall get the application form signed by the Principal/Head by way of verification and attestation of the photograph and all the Information contained therein. The Principal/head of institution shall sign In full and affix his seal.
  5. The application should be accompanied by the following documents:-
For BPL Students

Photocopy of BPL Card attested by the Principal and copy of Marks Card of previous Examination
For ITI students In case student stays in hostel, submit payment receipts alongwith original hostel Certificate/ letter from Warden duly attested by the Head of the Institution where studying.

FOR RELEASE OF SUBSEQUENT SCHOLARSHIP INSTALLMENTS, THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS SHOULD BE SUBMITTED;
  1. Money receipt (if possible) in respect of the previous installment duly signed by the student and countersigned by the Principal/Head of the Institution, along with seal.
  2. Progress report of the student, including result of the last examination taken by the student, to be signed by the Principle/Head, along with seal.
  3. Report by the Principal/Head of the Institution with seal, that the student is continuing with his/her studies.
DISBURSEMENT OF SCHOLARSHIPS
  1. All scholarships will be given in instalments covering a period of six months at a time, irrespective of the amount involved. For courses of just 9 months duration, the scholarship shall be given in a single consolidated instalment.
  2. In case the candidate has appeared in an examination during that period and the result has been announced, the result of examination shall be conveyed by the Principal in his progress report.
  3. In case the result has not been announced, the instalment shall not be released till such announcement. If the student fails in an examination or is unable to appear in it, the payment of further scholarship shall be suspended till he passes the examination.
  4. The scholarship amount shall be disbursed through electronic transfer to the bank account of the student if possible, otherwise through crossed A/c.Payee cheque or DD in favour of the student. The cheque/DD shall be sent directly to the student.
  5. In case of electronic transfer, intimation shall be sent by post to the students. An intimation about sending of the amount to the student shall also be sent to the Principal/Head of the Institution through e-mail or by a letter.
  6. The scholarship shall not be denied merely because the student has availed himself of a bank loan for his/her studies.
  7. If a student leaves the educational institution, it shall be his/her duty and the duty of the Principal/Head of the Institution to give intimation to SJF.
  8. In the case of ITI students, if they are allowed by the institute to leave the course in the middle and rejoin it after some interval, the due amount of scholarship shall be given at the time of resumption of the course, but not for the intermediate period of absence.

STUDENTS OF SCHEDULED CASTS /SCHEDULED TRIBES Background  

1. Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr.B.R.Ambedkar is represented is respected all over the country for fighting for the welfare of poor and, downtrodden and weaker sections. He made significant contribution in Nation building. Scholarship provided by the Maharaja of Baroda was of considerable significance in the life o and achievements of Baba Saheb. With a view to recognise merit and encourage and motivate students, it is proposed to provide a one-time cash award to the meritorious students of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) for pursuing higher studies.
2.    The scheme would be known as Dr.Ambedkar National Scholarship Scheme
3.   This scheme would be implemented by Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, set up under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in 1992. 


NO.OF SCHOLARSHIP  :

1The Ambedkar National Scholarship will be given to three students scoring highest marks in the regular Class X level examination conducted by the Education Board/Council. This will be separate for Scheduled casts and Scheduled Tribes. In case none of the first three eligible students are girls, the girl student scoring the highest marks will get a special award.

2Thus for each of 26 Boards, there shall be four award for SC i.e. 104 awards and likewise another 104 awards for STs. In case more than one student scoring the same marks, the number of awards would be accordingly increased for covering all such eligible students.
3.As per 1991 census, 250 no. of special merit scholarship @ Rs.10, 000/- each will be awarded to the next highest scoring student after first, second and third position attained by SC/ST students. This will be in addition to the awards indicated at para 2 above. 


AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship will be given as one-time grant as per the following norms: -

1.    Student securing highest marks     Rs.60, 000/-       
2.    Student securing 2 nd highest marks     Rs.50, 000/-       
3.    Student securing 3 rd highest marks     Rs.40, 000/-       
4.    Girl student securing highest marks (In case she is not in the above three categories)     Rs.40, 000/-       
Total     Rs.1,90,000/- (Per Board/Council)    
This award amount will be payable over any other scholarship/award.

Selection Procedure:

The Board / Council conducting the examination would send details of the students (name, address, family income, percentage of marks, school last attended, nearest bank etc.) within 15 days of the announcement of the examination result, with copy to the Secretary, Education Dept. of the concerned State Government. For family income a certificate given by the father or principal should suffice. The award money would be sent to the students in the form of an Account Payee bank draft by registered post under intimation to the Board / Council.

The country's premier power producer, National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC) is offering 25 Scholarships to students belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Physically Challenged categories pursuing full time degree course in Engineering.

The scholarship is admissible from the second year till the final year subject to the condition that the student meets the minimum qualifying criterion for success in each year. The scholarship amount is Rs.1, 000. Of the 25 scholarships, 14 is for SC, six ST and five PC. 


Scholarship Amount :

 
The scholarship is tenable from the second year till the final year subject to the condition that the student meets the minimum qualifying criterion for success in each year. The rate of scholarship is Rs.1000/- P.M. Total 25 scholarships will be granted (14 SC, 06 ST and 05 PH)
Eligibility:
Students belonging to SC/ST/Physically Challenged categories (Visually Handicapped / Hearing Handicapped / Orthopaedically Handicapped ) and pursuing full time degree course in Engineering in the disciplines of Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, Computer Science, Electronics / Telecommunication from a college / university institute recognized by the Govt. Of India and should be in the Third Year are eligible to apply for the coming exam. Those who have successfully completed the 1st year degree course and 2nd year degree course both in the first attempt only need to apply for the coming exam. They should not be receiving any financial aid or assistance from any source.

Students fulfilling the eligibility conditions may submit their applications, along with supporting documents through the Head of the Institution, while forwarding the application, the institute shall certify to the effect that information furnished by the candidates is correct and the institute is recognized by the Government of India.

KC Mahindra All India Talent Scholarships 2012

K.C. Mahindra Education Trust, Mumbai, invites applications for Mahindra All India Talent Scholarships from students who have passed Std. X or Std XII and have secured admission this year in Government or recognized polytechnics for Diploma courses. Preference will be given to girl students, children from lower income group families, disabled children and children of armed forces personnel.

More than 75,000 beneficiaries through grants, scholarships, and loan in FY 2009-10 alone Rs. 424.2 million (USD 8.48 million) in grants, scholarships, and loans.

K.C. Mahindra Education Trust Scholarships 2012

K.C. Mahindra Scholarships of Rs.5000/- per year for a maximum period of 3 academic years will be awarded to selected students, to enable them to pursue diploma courses, for which they have secured admissions.

Students can apply at the address given below for an Application Form. Along with the application, students should send a self-addressed envelope. Our Official Application Form will be sent to those students who have qualifications as stated above. The application form duly filled in by the applicants along with the necessary enclosures must reach the centre given below, where the applicant would like to appear for the interview, if selected.

Eligibility for K.C. Mahindra Scholarships 2012


1. Candidates needs to have passed Std.X or Std.XII from any recognized board of secondary / Higher Secondary in India
2. Candidates must have secured admission in government or recognized polytechnics for diploma courses.

Selection procedure for K.C. Mahindra Scholarships 2012:

Candidates are required to appear for an interview at a center chosen by him/her at the time of application. The interview dates are intimated to the selected applicants well in advance. The cost of travel, to a certain extent, is also paid to them by the organization.

How to Apply for K.C. Mahindra Scholarships 2012:


Advertisements are usually published in the month of May / June every year. Students wishing to apply for the scholarships may obtain the application form by sending in a self-addressed envelope with Rs.6/- stamps affixed on it to any of the Mahindra offices in Chennai, Kochi or Hyderabad before the stipulated date.
The official application form is then mailed to the student, which should be duly filled in and returned along with the necessary enclosures to the office.

So far, we have reached more than 75,000 beneficiaries through grants, scholarships, and loans.

In FY 2009-10 alone:

1. 4,772 Mahindra All India Talent Scholars pursued vocational diploma courses at Government polytechnic colleges
2. 3,467 top scoring students received Mahindra Search for Talent scholarships
3. 914 deserving students pursued graduate studies overseas with the K.C. Mahindra Scholarship for Post Graduate Studies Abroad
4. 1,720 disadvantaged youth graduated from Mahindra Pride Schools with employable skills and good jobs
5. 17,000 underprivileged girl children went to school with Project Nanhi Kali

Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for SC-ST

Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for SC-ST candidates for Phil and PhD studies

The University Grants Commission invites applications for the award of fellowship for the year 2011-12 under Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship Scheme (RGNFS) for the benefit of SC/ST candidates for the consideration to select candidates for award of fellowship belonging to SC/ST category under the scheme.
Objective: It is for the to provide fellowship in the form of financial assistance to students belonging to SC/ ST to pursue studies leading to M. Phil and Ph. D degree (full time) in Sciences, Engg. & Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Eligibility: Post Graduate degree in the concerned subject & registered for M.Phil/Ph.D in recognized University/Institute/College.


Fellowship amount:


Science Humanities and Social Science:

Rs.16000/-p.m. for initial two years
Rs.18000/-p.m. for remaining tenure

Engg. & Technology:

Rs.16000/-p.m. for initial two years
Rs.18000/-p.m. for remaining tenure

Contingency A (Humanities & Social Sciences)

Rs.10000/-p.a. for initial two years
Rs.20500/-p.a. for remaining tenure

Contingency B (Sciences, Engg. & Technology)

Rs.12000/-p.a. for initial two years
Rs.25000/-p.a. for remaining tenure 

Departmental Assistance (All subjects)

Rs. 3000/- p.a. per student to the host institution for providing infrastructure

Rs. 2000/- p.m. in cases of physically handicapped & blind candidates

Selection process: Students will be selected by the Expert Committee on the basis of merit. The decision of the Commission in this regard shall be final. Direct & incomplete applications will not be entertained.
